I have strong views on a a slew of Europe-related issues (see below). I will put them forward in the coming weeks.
- Relevance to the rest of the world and US Position
- Common Currency
- Productivity and Innovation
- Banking Insolvency and Consequences!!!
- Politics and Governance, precarious position of Germany
- Quality of Life and Social Fabric
- Visas, Shengen Agreements, and Immigration
Hi “Gerald”!
I look forward to your further comment on the above. I too have strong views on the subject(s) – let’s see if we coincide? How is this to kickoff: “Eurozone to crumble and new alliances and affiliations will be formed between the larger European economies and US, China, Russia, LatAm etc., on an “every man for himself” basis. EU is a broken model but that is not to say there are not still great opportunities within individual member states. US Econpmy will continue to stagger drunkenly along unless there is radical political and policy change”
waiting for German to give us some insights on Europe and the EU.
EU will come out reinforced from this crisis and the Euro will probably remain. Increased federalism is coming, but all need more budgetary and fiscal Harmony.
Overall Europeans ex- UK need and want more integration not less. The crisis is not about the Euro it is about a lack of federalism, and abiding by common rules, the present Cypriot presidency is pretty low key for now .
Iceland will be joining the 28 members of the EU , after that I would like the EU to grow East – Turkey first … This may come out of the Syrian Crisis and a long awaited and overdue rapprochement with Iran !
Phil, give me a few more days (weeks) to work on this. ‘ve been traveling over August – the sun and the blue waters of the Med turned my brain to gel. Back home now, looking for my work hat. Talk soon.
